Photo Release Statement

Field Trip and Event Liability and
Regulations

We often take pictures of our members during our events. The photographs might be published in The Messenger (the Homeschool NY-LEAH print magazine), on our Signal chat or on our Facebook page. We will withhold the names of participants; however, it is possible the picture will be identified as a trip organized by Hudson Valley LEAH.

As a member of Hudson Valley Leah, you acknowledge that there are times when images of members of Hudson Valley LEAH and/or their completed works will be shared in print or on social media, and you agree that pictures of your family members may be used in this way.

You also agree to take and share only tasteful pictures of members, their children and member families, respecting personal boundaries and privacy and to be thoughtful and respectful concerning the pictures you share of group events to social media accounts.

Liability

By signing up for or attending any HV LEAH event, meet-up, gathering or field trip, you agree that you will not sue or hold the chapter leaders, organizers or any representative of Hudson Valley LEAH liable in the event of illness, injury or death resulting from participation in that event, meet-up, gathering or fieldtrip organized by a representative, member or chapter leader of Hudson Valley LEAH. You acknowledge that there are inherent risks associated with participation in life. You accept and acknowledge any and all possible risks with participating in any event.  You, your spouse, nor any attendee representing you, or as your guest, helper or additional caregiver will not sue or hold liable in any way the organizers or any representative thereof.  You understand that this agreement is made on behalf of yourself, your children, and anyone who might attend or participate as my guest, representative, or caregiver for myself and my children.  You also acknowledge that only adult members of LEAH and their children are covered under New York State LEAH's insurance policy, unless the event is stated to be open to the public.

Regulations

Our group represents homeschoolers at large, and our actions affect the willingness of local businesses and other venues to be open to homeschoolers as a group. Remaining respectful to the knowledge and experience of owners, facilitators, guides, etc. is imperative to developing and maintaining relationship with host venues.  Understand that we are guests at host venues and fieldtrips.  All attendees, whether adults or children, must behave in a respectful and responsible way to our hosts and their property. This includes:

1.  Wearing appropriate and respectful attire

2.  Speaking to hosts and other attendees in a respectful manner

3.  Being respectful when contacting venues both prior to and after events

4.  Following rules as set forth by the venue.

We are also a Christian organization, and as such, we represent our Lord, Jesus Christ, wherever we go. As a member of Hudson Valley Leah, you agree to present a positive Christian witness to others.
